Your At-Home Makerspace

Tiandra Ray

We may be without our regular prototyping tools, laser cutter, and (seemingly) endless supply of cardboard - but that won't stop us from making!

In this exercise, students will follow the slides above to gather materials and tools from around their home that they can use for prototyping and set aside a space for making.

In the response tab, post the following:

A "bird's eye view" photo of each of these categories of gathered materials (similar to the style of the slideshow)

  • Tools (cutting, measuring, drawing, etc.)
  • Binders, Fasteners, and Adhesives
  • Safety Gear (cutting mat, gloves, glasses, good lighting)
  • Prototyping Materials (rigid and flexible, aggregate, odds and ends)
  • Material and Tool Storage
  • Your (clear and well organized) Work Surface
