My Thesis
For my FessyCon project, I am building a mini bike model and characters based of my book. This Project connects to my book because the bike I am modeling is how all the characters travel in the actual book. Throughout the story, they face many challenges, but the Ali Princess is always there and that's why I think it's so symbolic. In order to make my project interactive, I will make the characters from the book attachable to the bike, via magnets. I will also create a spinnable pedestal to see the project from all angles.
My Initial Sketch
Conceptual Precedents
Technical Precedents
Day 1 of Building
Today I built the seats for the bicycle. I also created a much more detailed sketch of my project, and I created different steps I will take to build the project
Day 2 of Building
Today I bent and cut metal wire to form the bike frame, I intended to solder the wire together, but it turns out it wouldn't work, so I glued them together. It may not look like a bike now, but it will soon!
Day 3 of Building
Today I bent and cut metal wire to form the parts for the wheels of the bike. with the spare metal wire I will create spokes and they will look like wheels. I plan to glue them together tomorrow
Day 4 of Building
Today I took the bent wire and constructed the wheels. it was pretty hard to glue them together because I had to be very precise, but I got it done. Tomorrow I will attach these to the bike
Day 5 of Building
Today I was supposed to present my mid review, but I was last, so during my study hall, I attached the wheels to the bike.
