The Mark of Athena
Rick Riodan
I am making a bridge that shows how Annabeth crossed the bridge. In the book a bunch of spiders were chasing Annabeth and she had to cross a broken bridge. She made her way cross to the final challenge: Archarne's layer, by weaving her way to the opposite side to escape.

Day 6
Miss. Cook gave me some cotton balls to use to put under the bridge to represent the fog that was under Annabeth while she was was weaving across the bridge
Day 7
I added pictures of foggy bridges and but some fog on the bottom to make my project come to life
Day 8
I added a picture of Annabeth on a ball that people had to roll the ball across to win
Feedback:
When I was done presenting my project the teacher told me to make it more interactive. I did that by not only weave the bridge but also add a Annabeth (ball) to roll across the bridge.

Work Day 1
Today I started to design my box for my Fessy Con project. I did this by first designing it in Tinkercad to see how it looked. Then, I adjusted it until I looked good and made it in Cuttle.
Work Day 3
Today I made a small adjustment to my box so it can fit together to make it a lot stronger. After, I can just addd a little glue to keep it together. I also changed the size of the box many times so when I print it, it can fit in the laser cutter without using multiple boards of wood.

Work Day 4
Today me and Mrs. Charles decided to slightly change my idea for Fessy Con. In this change, we decide to make a sliding mechanism to show all the animals Oluu has been in the book. I am changing some of the parts of my project now to fit my new idea.

Z for Zacariah by Robert C. O’Brien
"Survive the Valley" board game
Sean Kim
Hi, my name is Sean, and I am creating a project based on the novel Z for Zacariah, by Robert C.O’brien. My project is going to be a board game named “Survive the Valley”. This game will give players the chance to experience the challenges that Ann faces as she lives in the Valley. Players will move across a board showing the valley, going through safe zones, danger zones, and zones where players will have to decide between cards with different choices, leading to varying outcomes. Some examples of what these zones could be about are finding supplies, facing radiation, and making choices about Mr. Loomis. This game relates to the novel by showcasing some of its major themes, like survival and trust.
Conceptual precedent
Technical precedent
I made some models of the valley-shaped board and some of the decision cards with chat gpt. I also thought of some of the text on the printed cards.
Day 1
Today, I made a Cuttle file for the board and a TinkerCad (3d print) file for my board game pieces. (The files are attached to the post)
I also began considering how I was going to decorate the board to make it look like a valley.
Day 2
Today I printed the board and made squares on the game board. I also made a board game piece and brought a die from the CCI
Day 3
Day 4
Today I printed 3 more game pieces and colored them so they could be differentiated. I also thought of some ideas for the decision cards.
Feedback
- Make the decision cards more interactive and add choices that can lead to different paths.
Day 5
After recieving my feedback, I decided to make a 3D model of the Valley for the game board and made a Cuttle file of the supporting structures.
Day 6
I completed the mountain game board and added board squares. I also put velcro on the squares in order to keep the board game pieces from falling.
I reprinted the board game pieces because they were too big before. I also colored them and added velcro on the bottom.
Day 7
Day 8
I made the cards that could result in moving foward or moving back on the game board. I also made a rule sheet for the game.

Important Objects in "His Dark Materials"
By:William Ji
I read, The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglass. They are all by the same author, Philip Pullman.
Explanation
I am making 2-3 objects from the "His Dark Materials" series. The Subtle Knife, The Amber Spyglass, and The Alethiometer each object appears one at a time in one book to another. I am planning to make one physical object(The Amber Spyglass) and one gam(The Subtle Knife), but I am not sure what to do for the Alethiometer.

Conceptual Precedents
Technical Precedents
Today I worked on designing a spyglass in Tinkercad. It was very hard to make the ridges on my spyglass because they had to have a specific shape, and there would always be gaps if you made them incorrectly. I am planning to make the engravings next.
Day 1
Day 2
Day 3
I have made some progress on my game, and I am planning to make a few more levels later. It was kind of hard making the Character jump, and deciding what to add in my game is proving to be difficult
Day 4
Today we just did mid-reviews, so no picture or anything.
Feedback(Picture)
Feedback(typed)
Glows:
1.Customized objects with thoughtful details
2.Clever game
Grows:
1.Need a rule doc explaining game
2.Need connection between spy glass and game
3.Pick 1 idea
Day 5
Today, we spent half of the class doing mid-reviews, but I was able to remove most of the supports from my 3D print.
Day 6
Today I finally got all of the supports off for my 3D print. I also reprinted it because Mr.Lewellyn suggested that we try to print it at a different angle to see if we can make it look better.
I couldn't find the picture of my progress for this.
Day 7
I got the reprinted spy glasses supports removed(Much faster and easier). I also added an eyepiece to it.
Day 8
I have started to sketch out a a drawing that people will be looking at though the spyglass. I will also probably add the little "dust particles" to my spyglasses eyepiece at home.
Day 9
Today I finished sketching my drawing and I am planning to color it tomorrow. I also painted my spyglass and I think it looks great.
