What we came up with
We came up with a set of wings that you can wear as a backpack. A servo motor would pull strings when a button is pressed. This would be able to avoid traffic congestion and make transportation easier and entertaining.
Problem
Solution
During our project, we faced many problems. One of our biggest problem was that we could not make the wing as realistic as we wanted it to be. It was hard to make the wing realistic because birds have wings on their arms. Also, our mechanism was too heavy to function as we wanted to.
To solve that problem, we tried to get rid of the extra parts and make it as light as possible. We are also considering folding the wings into the backpack for the final replica to make it more accessible.
Precedents (Technical)
Our technical precedent is the pulley. When you pull something, the other lifts up. We used this by attaching a string on a hinge that has a wing attached to it. By pulling and releasing the strings, the wing makes a flapping motion
Precedents(conseptual)
This is our precedent. It is a backpack that has wings attached to it. You can fold it.
Precedent (technical)
Our third precedent is the bird wing. We didn't want to make it angel wings because we wanted to make it realistic as possible

Advice from teachers after mid review
1. Use electronics to improve the motion of the wings
2. Tell what kind of problems our project solves in slides
3. Fold the wing in the backpack
What we applied
String path and tension
stronger hinges
wearbility
Electronic
Tell what problem our project solves
Wing movement range
→
added eyelets
strengthened it with tape
used fabric for the straps
we added servo motor
added slide for it
Found the best angle for servo motor

If we had more time
We could add stronger hinges
Make two wings flap
Make the wings up right
Test the servo motor over and over again until it becomes the perfect angle
