Hockey Stick Reusabilty.

Connor Spear

Hockey sticks are an important part of the game. However on average 4 sticks break per game, and 1000 sticks break per year per team. Thus if you multiplied 1000 by the 31 teams in the league you get an average of 31000 hockey sticks that are going to waste. Hockey sticks are not made with the environment in mind. The materials used are not good for the environment, and with so many broken sticks they are really starting to pile up and create a lot of waste. An Idea we have is we can collect the broken sticks and reuse the broken sticks to make a new hockey stick. Even though it is not really helping the environment it is reducing the waste the broken sticks make. Another idea we have is we could repurpose the sticks to make benches, or picture frames, etc.
