Traditional surgical staples create a lot of pain for the patient during installation and removal. The design is rather bland and does not hold a robust grip on the epidermis and the dermis of the skin. This can derail the process of epithelialization and post-surgical recovery.
As a result, we have taken the advice from nature to use aspects of the quills of porcupines to make the staples more effective and maintain a robust grip on the skin for better recovery.
