For Fessy Con I will make a board game. It will relate to my book The Forbidden Stone by Tony Abbott because it will display multiple events and obstacles in the book.
My conceptual precedent is snakes and ladders because my board game will have a ladder and is in the same twisty shape.
Conceptual Precendent
Technical Precedent
My technical precedent is a design for my board game box. I decided to make the box out of cardboard or paper(preferably cardboard) and I think that I'll use this design.
This is my initial sketch for my project. I plan to make a box to store the board game using cardboard. The board of the board game is going to be wood. The cards will be paper and I might add a design to them to indicate which pile they are. I also sketched a rough draft of what the squares might be.
Iteration #1
I finished the board design on cuttle. It will be like snakes and ladders; after I print it out, I will add one of the ladders/bridges. I added 2 squares for holding the card piles and the rest are the squares that the players will move over.
These are the card stack piles.
I started to cut out my board game's order and clue cards. I also cut out my board but I accidentally rastered the middle cut so I'll have to fix that. Another thing that I did was make a cuttle design for my board.
Iteration #2
Iteration #3
I finished cutting out all my game cards for my game. The blue cards are clue cards(good) and the red cards are order cards(bad).
Today in middle-makers I finished vinyl ing some of the cards. It was very tiring. (I kept having trouble with the transfer paper.)
Iteration #4
Iteration #5
Today during English I went to the CCI and Mr.Lew gave me the idea of using hinges. I finished cutting the board but I accidentally cut it in the wrong spot so the board is a bit messed up. I also attached the hinges but the duct tape didn't work very well.
Iteration #6
Today during middle-makers I hot glued the hinges but I didn't like the hinges so I took them off. I also make a cuttle of my box. Also in English class, Henry helped me sublimate a crossbow onto my board.
Iteration #7
Today during middle-makers I printed out my box put I got it wrong again. I also printout most of my squares.
Iteration #8
I finished the other half of my board and finished the script. I also finished writing on my cards.
Iteration #9
This is the final image showing the cards, board, pieces, dice, and rules.
