Reflection

Harper Cohen

Two things that I think went well during my project were our flexibility and cooperation. I think that my partner and I did a very good job of talking through our ideas and creating a first place project. I think that we both worked together very well, and both did an equal amount to make the project. I also think that we did a good job adapting and being flexible during the project because our original idea had some flaws that we had to work through.

Two ways we could have improved on our project were making it possibly more professional-looking and using our time better. I think that although we won the compotition overall we could have possibly used the laser cutter to create some of our pieces, as this would have made our project look a lot better instead of just being some scraps of cardboard. I think that we weren't too stressed about time, although it would have been nice to test our design a few more times. I think that we could have come up with an idea faster at the start, as that took much more time than other groups, and we also went through a lot of trial and error, which is not a bad thing, but it took some time. This led to us creating a bunch of pieces that we didn't end up using, which was some time wasted. Overall, I think that Aaron and I did a great job on this project.

Things that I thought went well with me and will were that we both were working efficiently, with us not dwelling on a certain material or project, but actually just doing it with what we had. Also, I felt like I was a really good teammate, being able to be flexible when we had a slight shift in our project size-wise, but also just being a good listener whenever he had an idea.

One thing I could work on is being aware of the amount of time we had, because we wanted to add more at the very end. Then again, it's hard to force ideas into your brain. But at the end of the day, I could've been more efficient, knowing the amount of time I had. Also, another thing I could've done better was asking for more help, instead of doing everything alone. I could've asked for help from my partner, instead of just doing it and seeing what happens.

Two things that went well in our project were our initial ideas and cooperation. Throughout the project, we had to change our ideas to match the time constraint, but the initial idea was preserved. I also believe that we worked well together, and helped us divide up our work.

Two things that we could improve going forward is time management, and to not be too ambitious. Better time management will help us make sure that we can complete our project within the original time constraints. Being conscious of how much time we have to complete the project and to not be over-ambitious will help us create the best project that satisfies the time constraint.

Two steps, I believe, went well in the project were our actual building process and ideas. First, during the build process, we did a laser cut design in our mechanical function, which made it a lot smoother on the marble track with almost no flaws. Next, our planning went well because we stuck with one idea when we found it and made sure it was not outside our building capabilities. Therefore, it helped us save some time actually brainstorming the marble track.

Two ways we could have improved on our project were working together in a team and our time management. Despite making a very solid project, most of the time my partner was doing different things from me, so we were not communicating well. Therefore, we had some repetition when we came together. Second, our group could have improved our time management, because we struggled to finish on time, because we had only focused on our mechanical piece and base for the marble track, instead of ramps or even the ending of the track.
