Today, I made a base made out of cardboard for my diorama. I also emailed Science Bob and Mr. Lew for supplies to set the scene, such as turf, bushes and trees and some other accessories. I plan on putting these on tomorrow and planning to 3D print the giant dragon for the scene I am making, and also starting on the other characters.

Day 2

Today, I started to lay the foundations of the cardboard dragon I am going to make. Tomorrow, I hope to continue progress on the dragon and also implement the turf and trees that I ordered yesterday.

Day 3

This is the bottom half of the dragon, and as you can see, I attached the second leg onto the body. I couldn't get the exact height and size of the legs the same, so when I make it stand, it tilts to one side. I decided to repurpose this into the dragon stomping on the ground.

Day 4

I made the head of the dragon with cardboard, and it was quite difficult to make rounded edges. I also attached the second leg onto the lower half of my dragon, and received the trees that I ordered (I couldn't find the turf I ordered anywhere).

Day 4

I finished building the dragon today, and added the tail to it too. Tomorrow, I plan on painting it blackish-purple and also adding the turf and trees onto the platform that my dragon will stand on. If I have time, I also want to 3D-print Hansel and Gretel from the book, which will be the final characters of my project.

Day 5

I painted my dragon black-ish purple today, but the purple didn't quite show very well. I forgot to add a tongue, but I colored the whole mouth red so that it would be less noticeable. For the past couple of days, I went to Ms. Walrod's room to work on painting various types of things, such as the base and the dragon. The base was painted green since the turf still didn't arrive, and I plan on adding some lava strips around it to make it cooler.

Day 6

I just 3D-printed my Hansel and Gretel figurines, and I attached them to the base. As you can see, the base made some improvements from its last cardboard self, and I plan on adding the dragon tomorrow. The dirt on here is real to mimic a burnt forest feel (and also because it looks better aesthetically in my opinion) and I attached some trees too. During the last few classes with Ms. Walrod, I also got to finish some painted streams of lava.

Day 7

This is the finished product's design, and I think that my hard work paid off quite well. I attached the dragon onto a spot with hot glue, and it looks almost domineering over Hansel and Gretel. Hansel's arm didn't get 3D-printed properly, so I just made an excuse that it had been eaten off by the dragon (it actually had been in the book). I can't wait for Fessy Con tomorrow, and I don't trip on the way there as it is very fragile.
