Thesis Statement

The inspiration behind our project is the ups and downs in life. Our person Ysabel who we interviewed talked a lot about the ups and downs in life and how perseverance and belief are how you overcome these obstacles. Our goal was to make a swing that swings back and forth symbolizing the ups and downs. We used components like laser cutting, wood, and a complex motor to move the swing on its own. We also are using color and photos to make the project more sensory. It looks simple but the process proved challenging and time because of the difficulty of laser cutting and creating a working motor.

A Major Challenge we Faced!

After our Mid-Review the feedback we received was to zoom in on a swing set and make it go up and down with a motor.

After we did the motor, we came to class the next day just to find that it fell out of Mr. Daly's window.

With only a week left of the project we got to work and re-constructed the motor to look this!

Ysabel Aoun, cook in the dining hall

When we interviewed Ysabel she talked about many things.

She grew up in Venezuela and had brothers and sisters.

Her favorite thing to do when she was a kid was go to the park with her friends after school.

She then met her husband and started a bakery.

She then moved to America.

She started a restaurant in West Newton which shut down over time.

And then finally, she came to fessy to be a cook. And this is her first year here!
