John Bary and the Key
Every lock has a key
Backstory
Jack and I interviewed John over Zoom. John had experienced homelessness in the Boston area. He talked about how when you have keys, you don't notice them, but when the keys are taken away from you, its like all the locks "glow." We thought this was an idea we could run with and make a great project about.
Artist statment
At first we wanted to make a box with two sides one with a key and the other with a door and a shadow of a key. But once we were almost finished with our final we had a better idea. We still stuck with the inital box and key idea but we had led's on the key side to make it glow this side represents oprotunity and on in the middle we put a peice of paper so when you look throught the other key hole you see a shadow of a key representing that there was once oproutinuty that is not there anymore.
