Day 2

I began 3D printing the pieces and made the game board. I will probably actually DRAW OUT the game board next time.

next to put it in the middle of the game board to make it look cool.

Day 3

Today I completely finished the Tinkercad for the pieces and die for the board game and printed the pieces and cut out the supports. I will make the game board next time.

Day 4

Today I made the board for the game (I didn't complete this yet, there are still missing aspects)

I lost the die in a Middle Makers class, so I need to print a new one.

I printed dragon too but it was the wrong size.

Day 5

Today I used Sketchpad to make the cards for my board game. I then put the pictures onto a google doc to print in the future.

I made cards for both the Red and Blue teams.

Day 6

Today I made the Instruction Manual for my board game. I didn't finish it so I will have to work on this next time or during study halls.

I also printed out "cards" and the dragon and cut them out as well.

Officially named the board game "Dragonfire"

Day 7

Today I completed the board game manual and was about to print it out. The dragon was the wrong size so I had to print it again.

Day 8

Today I managed to print out the Dragon with the right size and glued it onto the game board. I printed another dice and took out the supports.

Day 9

Today I (hopefully) finished the game board and colored in everything I needed to. (no picture right now, I didn't have time)

Finished Board Game

I created a board game based on the wonderful and magical book series The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. This board game relates to these series because it has the iconic characters and locations from Middle Earth. There is a split path to choose between the 2, each with every location in the correct order. The cards and locations also use images from official The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit video games, artwork, and of course the movies

When I first started thinking about this project, The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit are massive quests and battles against mythical creatures. So I decided to combine Candy land and Pokemon into one game based on the famous series by J.R.R. Tolkien

The best example of a technical precedent I can think of is the tutorial on Pokecardmaker.com (which is the website I used for the cards)

I am making a diorama of the book the Iron Trial by Holly Black and Casandra Clare. The diorama displays the Magisterium, which is an under ground magic school. The cave will include the main characters and elementals (animals that use the elements).

This is one of my conceptual precedents

The precedent is of a cave system with stalagtites.

The precedent is of a cave made out of clay, which is what I am doing.

The box that holds the diorama fits together by using joints / puzzle pieces.

This is my initial sketch of the diorama.

I made the box that would hold the diorama on Cuttle.

Then I laser-cut the box and glued it using wood glue.

I made the main characters, frogs, and elementals on Tinkercad.

These are the main characters and elementals.

They are not totally finished yet because I am going to paint them.

I am going to add more clay. Then I am going to paint the inside and outside.

Day Seven

Today I was not able to get much done because my class was still finishing the Fessy Con mid-reviews, but the day before (I did not have English that day) I was able to paint the cave during X-Block thanks to Ms. Walrod setting out the grey paint for me.

Day Eight

Today I painted the 3d figures. Later in the day I also glued the stalactites to the cave.

Day Nine

This is my final product. Today I added the characters, elementals, moss, character name plates, and candles.

Day One

This is a sketch of my project. The outside is going to be wood while the inside is going to be a cave which includes: decor, rocks, the main characters, and elementals.

Day Two

Today I glued the laser-cut box together. Inside the box will be the diorama.

Day 3

Today I made the main characters of the book and frogs on Tinkercad. I was not able to 3d print them though because all the 3d printers were in use.

Day Four

Today I made lizards on tinkercad and 3d print them and the other characters. I was also able to gather my moss, clay, candles, and glow in the dark stones.

Day 5

Today I made the 3d figures. Later this week I am going to take the supports off the 3d models and paint them.

Day Six

Today I started making the cave. I am almost done, but I am planning to add more clay and paint it.

Day Seven

I have some foam board for the board of the board game, and I am making a Google Doc of the images to print.

Gimli and Gandalf came to school today! They are some of the set pieces. The Axe Chariot will be a travel vehicle in certain areas of the board that Gimli can summon. It is an add-on that you can use if you own the Gimli fun pack for LEGO Dimensions. more images on next 3 slides

I have cut out most of the cards and images have been printed! Official rules are done as well

The board is finished! I am getting the image tomorrow. I also have fully cut out all the cards! Tomorrow I also plan to play the board game with some of my classmates.

I have finished my board game. The rules are being printed out and 2nd period tomorrow I plan on playing my board game with some other kids.

I test played it and it was really fun!

Day 2: I am cutting my diorama base. I am also going to find images for the background. Then, I will start designing the 3d printed characters and buildings.

Day 3:

I am making a frog 3d print. Then I will put a mold on it. Finally I will use rubber and stick an led inside it to glow.

Day 4:

I am making a clay frog. This is going to be instead of the 3d print. This is because the 3d print failed

Day 5:

I missed school today . So, I could not work on my fessy con project. I still worked on my mid review though.

Day 6:

I worked more on the frog today. I also got some small trees. Tomorrow I will finish the frog and start the house.

Day 7:

Today I got a lot of work done. I finished my mid paragraph. I also finsihed painting my frog.

Day 8:

Today I found out that someone had taken part of my box. Because of this, I had to change the way I built it. The reason I did not just make a new one is because it is too big.

Day 9:

Today I worked on my diorama parts. I finished my frog and I put it on the diorama. I also finished putting my trees and house on to the diorama.

Day 10

Today I put the finishing touches on my project. I still need to take my final photo though. I also need to finish my final presentation

Today me and my partner created the 3rd print for the balls, and we made the laser cut for the chest itself. We also took a picture of our sketch.

What we did today

Today we built the base and the outside of the chest. We also made the top of the chest, and used a big hinge to combine the top and bottom.

Today we made the inside of the chest which will hold the balls in place. also we started printing two of the three balls but since they haven't printed yet this is a picture from tinker-cad.

Today me and Daniel lowered the stilts that hold the ball holder because the top couldn't close cause of the size of the ball. After that me and Daniel painted the golden snitch that we 3d printed. After that at guided study I made a box in the the cover of the box and hot glued the snitch into it. and after all of that I painted half of the box brown.

Day 5

Today I finished painting the box and at the end of class I sublimation printed a sticker of the logo that's going to go on my box. And I glued the golden snitch into the box.

Day 6

So today since the hinge of the chest was loosening up a lot we decided to remove it and, sand it so that tomorrow we can freshly hot glue it. Also today I put the last ball on the printer so tomorrow it should be ready for painting. And lastly me and Daniel painted a fresh coat of paint on the chest.

Day 8

Today me and Daniel started painting the stripes and we painted half of them.

Today Daniel and I finished painting the stripes/checker pattern. And all we have left to do is put on the stickers.

Day 9

Today me and Daniel repainted one of the balls more brown so it could match the color of the other one.
