Today i made my sketch of my project. Next class I will make a materials list.
Today I made a materials list. I sent it to Ms. Cook and Mr. Lew. Next class I will start my shirt.
Day 3
Today I made a logo on cuttle next class I will put it on a shirt.
Today I finished my logo. I also started working on gathering pictures for the the stickers. next class i will sublimate the shirt and make the stickers.
Day 5
Today I made my shirt. Next class I will make the cube stickers after I finish gathering images.
Today I finished gathering images. Next class i will make the stickers.
Today I tried to make the stickers but the sublimation printer was not working.
Today I made the stickers. Next class I will apply them. I had a picture but the camera deleted it and I have already applied them.
Today I applied the stickers and made a sign. Tonight I will 3D print some keychains as a final piece of the project.
I will create a board game, the purpose of my board game is to find the sword(treasure search). This will relate to The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan.
Problem/Solution and Introduction
Precedent
My precedent is the Sword of Summer. We need to find the sword to win the game.
I am planning to make a helmet. It relates to my book, Artemis Fowl because there is a magic police force called the LEP, and one of the main characters is part of it and I am making her helmet.
These are my precedents:
This is a prop from the Artemis Fowl movie. It is my conceptual precedent because it is exactly what I am trying to make.
This is my technical precedent. I am using the template it gives in the video and just not adding the front face part. I am also making it out of foam instead of cardboard.
This was (part of) my first sketch on day 1
My idea is to make a helmet out of foam, then cut and glue the foam to make it.
Day 2
I got the foam for the helmet. Now I am going to start trying to figure out how to make it. Science Bob used to do the same when making other helmets, so I am going to see if any of the CCI staff know how.
Work Day 3:
Ms.Cook sent me two links for a DIY helmet and I think I am going to use the second one, just cutting off the front part:

Work Day 4
I made the first half of the first iteration out of cardboard. I am going to start to make the other half, then make it out of foam for the final!
Work Day 5
I cut out the other half of the first iteration of the helmet
It was not really work day but I still worked on it in Middle Makers:
I finnished the other half of the prototype helmet and I am going to glue them together next time.
Work day 6
Today I cut out the first half of the helmet and started gluing it together. Sadly I couldn't finish or take a photo. :(
Work day 7
I finished the other half, glued it together, and got green and gray duct tape on it because there was no time for paint.
Work day 8
I made a rough laser cut of the visor, heated it up to 500°F, and bent it to the desired shape. Sadly, I couldn't get it on the helmet.:(
Work Day 9
I got the visor on the helmet, but I realised that I couldn't get the tint on, and they are out of LEDs so I don't think I can get them on either.:(
My main idea is to make a board game that includes many aspects of The Red Pyramid but in a competitive way, to show the meaning and story.
A base idea for this project is Candy Land or Chutes and Ladders, where the main idea is to get to the end before your opponent.
I started to bring this idea to life on Cuttle by designing it for a laser cut.
This was my original sketch for the game that I made on day 1, however as you can see it has changed a lot till now.
Iterations!
On Days 2-3 I designed and created my first iteration for the board, which was to only make the hieroglyphs in the corners laser cut, and make the path marker.
However, after day 3 I quickly realized that making it so everything on the board is laser cut would look a lot more neat and overall better, so I designed and laser cut it on day 4.
On top of that I also changed many things since my original. One example of this is that I decided to use dice instead of a spinner. I also had to redo one of the playing pieces because it was too big for the path.
By day 6 I had upgraded my board a sufficient amount. I added a 3d printed pyramid and added the bottom part of my board.
In my final iteration on day 7, I added on the bottom part that I had planned in the beginning and I made cards.
