In my project I made a sliding box that shows Archer's Quest with an archer, lion, and some important words about the book. Also I made a bow and arrow.
Thesis
My conceptual present is a night light.
My technical present is the website of cuttle.xyz using a sliding box template.
This is my initial sketch for the materials I would need for my project.
I plan to create three pairs of eyes that represent Peter Nimble. Because he has the Fantastic Eyes
My conceptual precedent is an eye because that is what I am trying to recreate. My technical precedent is cuttle because that is what I used to laser-cut the eyes.
Today, I made my sketch of what the Fantastic Eyes are going to look like. I also started the laser-cutting process. Overall, this was a great first day.
Day 1
Day 2
Today, I finished painting The Fantastic Eyes. I also put some fabric inside the box that I laser-cutted. I don't know if I want to glue the fabric or keep it stuffed like it is now. All in all, I am making great progress for Fessy Con.
Day 3
Today, I did not have a very successful day. Because I tripped and injured my knee. I made a cool LED strip thanks to Nathaniel who helped me out. But otherwise wise that was all I did. Therefore, I did not have the day that I wanted.
Day 4
Today, I glued the words that I laser-cut onto my box. I also put the LED that Nathaniel made in my box. Overall, a great day.
Day 5
Today, I have been working on the mid-review. I have not presented my mid review but I am very excited to. Overall, I have been working hard on this mid-review.
Day 6
Today I laser-cut my two text boxes. I am planning for tomorrow that I can glue them onto my box. All in all a pretty good day.
Day 7
Today, I finished my project. I glued both of my texts onto my box. And it looks very nice. I want to do a couple of things to my box.
I want to make a diorama that shows people arguably the most important part of my book (The Unbeleivable Fib) because it is definitely the most confusing book I have ever read while I was building this project I started to understand why it was so confusing.
Technical precdent. The things that will help me accomplish this project.
Conceptional prescdent. ( Its a tree in the fall)
This is my first sketch. I drew this yesterday I am printing my stump to my tree. There were some difficulties printing it because the printer we were using kept on getting error pop up's but I finally got it to work on another printer.
Day 1.
Today I came in and at recess I checked on my print that I left over the weekend and it wasn't there but there was another print that was mine someone restarted it but the filament, but luckily me and Thomas Crocker were able to make a new one on a new printer. In class I was looking for something to put on top of the stump that would fit but then I had the idea to crop the bottom of the stump to make a tree trunk to go on top of the stump. All in all very productive day special thanks to Daniel for helping me crop it.
Day 2
Day 3
Failed Print.
Today I made this tree on tinker cad but nothing was working when I was trying to print it apparently the formatting was wrong. But you might be wondering what is the point of this? Well this was a back up print but I realised that it needed to be shorter but unfortuanlly it could only be 5.2 inches tall that would be less than 2 inches a world for the background so I am going back to my original idea.
Day 4/Day 5/Day 6.
Tree after we cut it. There was wood stain on it.
Today i went into the woods with and special thanks to tyler mayer for the 2nd layer of my tree but it was like a 10-foot-long branch but then we finally got it in and with a lot of work finally sawed off the piece. Day 5 was Midreview so I could not do it. Day 6 was our drop day and I had no periods to do it.
Day 7/8
Day 7 was a thursday but on day 6 we did not finish presenting our mid-reviews so the other half of the class had to present. Day 8 was the most productive day I was able to lazar cut the branches and paint the bottom 3d printed stump now all I need to do is paint the branches, glue it all together and make the backgrounds on cuttle.
World's backgrounds on cuttle.
I ditched the Backgrounds because it would be too hard to pull of in virtually no time. But I do feel that the backgrounds would make my project be more understandable with the backgrounds because it would outline the 3 worlds theme and clean it up so its not just flat at the top but all in all I think that my project turned out pretty good in my opinion.
The board didn't laser cut, so I will have to restart it. I also started writing the rules for the game.
Day 5
I laser-cut the board today and printed the money, but it printed out wrong, so I will have to do that again (I'm getting a sense of deja vu). I will also start making character cards tommorow.
For Day 1 I spent my time working on my sketch. I will make the base out of cardboard then stuff it with paper. Then, I will add strips and then paint it.
Day 1
For Day 2, I spent most of my time in the Art room working on the base of my Moonlark. I am going stuff it with paper then paint it.
Day 2
Day 3
For Day 3, I worked on stuffing paper and taping it down. Then I added the wires for the legs. Soon, I will start putting the strips on the bird.
Day 4
For Day 4, I smoothed out the Moonlark by adding more strips. Even though Ms. Walrod was not there I just got some paper towels and the art paste then got to work. Hopefully Ms. Walrod feels better so we can paint and decorate the bird.
Day 5
For Day 5, I started making the webbed feet. I started making it with wire to make the initial shape. Then I added paper towels to create the web in between the feet.
For Day 6, I started by painting one side of the Moonlark. I changed the color of the paint because it was too dark. Next, I am going to paint the wings with the same color.
Day 6
For Day 7, added a second coat of paint over the body. After that, I glued the wings and added rubber bands to make sure the wings was secure. Next time, I am going to add the peacock like tail.
Day 7
Day 8
For Day 8, added a second coat to my bird. I added paint to my wings and my main body. I also, added the feet and painted the beak. Soon, I am going to paint the beak and add the decorations.
Day 9
For Day 9, I added the final touch ups. I added the eyes and glued the peacock feathers. I also added the feathers on the head.
This will relate to The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. It will show a big scene from the lion the witch and the wardrobe sublimated onto the center and you pull cards to play on the spaces. You get around the board to win.
Bringing Architecture from stories into the real world
Mucklethrift Manor I.R.L.
My project is a realistic model of one of the main locations of my story. There is a Missing wall allowing for people to see the inside of the house. I will use details from the book to make it look as realistic as possible
My conceptual precedent was Mucklethrift Manor from the book. I thought that all the details were really cool. This gave me the idea to model it for my Fessy Con project.
Conceptual Precedent
Technical Precedent
My technical precedent was Barbie Dreanhouse. I was inspired by the idea of being able to look into the house. This inspired me to have a missing wall so people could see all the cool features inside.
Initial Sketches
This is my first sketch where I thought about what my project would look like.
Iterations
This is the first attempt I made to design the stairs.
A forest Diorama of my book the Forest of Silence it will be a dense forest with my main characters venturing through it.
